We run a tight ship around here :)
Just sharing what’s been on my heart. <3
In the most difficult circumstances in life is where out character is tested. When someone bring allegations against you based on false accusations is when we get to shine.
When we get to show how much character and integrity we have, not because of us but because of what/whom we believe in. This of course does not mean you lay down and let them run you over. I am a fighter by nature. I stand for truth, for integrity and for my family as well. Mom’s have a fight in them that is indescribable! Have you ever seen a mom lion protect her cubs? Ahhhh.
The beauty of nature, our nature. That is how God created us. When you live life by christian principles taught in the Bible you understand how important it is to abide in the truth in EVERYTHING we say.
When Dave and I got married almost 4 years ago, we knew how we would want to raise our family. Our goals are to raise our 4 children in the knowledge of the Word of God, to raise them to have morals and values to be young woman and men of integrity. Dave and I have a theory and that is with lies you will never win. Why? Because God is on our side. God knows the truth and when you have God as your defender and protector, He is like that lion mom (dad) when His cubs are being threatened the LION comes out to fight. I praise Him for the victory I already have. Dave and I want to raise our children to love God and obey His commandments.Not to be self seeking but to seek the good of others. We do extensive research when a decision has to be made involving any of our children to ensure that it is in their best interest. We are fully aware of the privilege and responsibility it is to raise the children God has entrusted to our care. As the mom, I have the greatest influence on my children and I try to use every moment possible as a teaching moment. I do not want to raise my kids as hermit crabs either so they will be taught evolution right along creationism. They will make their own choice as to what they will believe. I want to instill in my precious children christian principles since they are young that they may be equipped to walk through life with the tools necessary to succeed. To succeed not as the world defines it but as God defines it. There is no one out there that can attack my character or my intent when raising my children, they will always lose the argument. Truth always prevails against lies. Light always prevails against darkness!
At the end of the day my children know they are loved and that they are precious in God’s sight. I do not agree and never will with parents that are divorced and speak evil of the child’s father. This will only harm the child psychologically. I have done enough research on parenting to know what’s appropriate and what’s not. Everything has to be done at the appropriate age with the appropriate wording according to the childs level of intelligence and understanding. Consistency in the family and time spent together is vital for the rearing of healthy children. Dave and I try to have a family night every week (we are going to start making it more often since franky loves it). We either do games or movie night, we have popcorn and in rare occasions Franky gets to have a soda! That to him is a treat!
We buy them organic juice in order to keep the sugar and artificial food colorant to the minimum. We sit together as a family at dinner time and talk. This is vital as well to develop a strong cohesiveness of the family unit. Children feel secure when they have a consistent upbringing. When the child sees something modeled in one home and the opposite in the other they get confused. Especially at a young age. This is detrimental to the child’s development. When in one home he is allowed to play inappropriate video games and in another he is taught the opposite, the child becomes conflicted. And a duty that is the parents responsibility, to guide and protect the child’s eye gate (what he sees) and ears (what he hears) has become the child’s responsibility to reject the things He has been taught as wrong or inappropriate himself. The burden becomes the child’s as he is to determine what is and it is not appropriate for him to do since he is being taught in his primary residence right vs wrong. This should NEVER be a child’s responsibility for the other parents lack of discernment. A child as young as 8 years old should be taught a foundation in which he is able to understand right vs wrong. As parents we are to prepare our children for the outside world. The world outside mom and dad making the decisions for them. shwWe are to teach them how to transfer the dependency they have on us to depending on Jesus and the Word for right and wrong. In this world we refuse to teach our children basic principles of morals and values yet we complain about crime rates and delinquency. You wonder why? Psychological studies have shown that children who play violent video games tend to grow up exhibiting violent traits themselves. A study done in a jail (male inmate population) shows that 99% of the inmates never had a strong bond with their fathers and a terrible home life. The mom was rarely around and the child (now inmate) was never taught right from wrong. He basically raised himself.
Sadly this is very prevalent in our society today to let kids raise themselves either by TV or in school 8 hours a day. Parents tend to think they do not need to instruct their children, they just tend to correct the problem when it arises and then they wonder where it came from. We are to show our children by the way we live. If I do not want my children to see rated R moves, dave and I do not watch rated R movies. If we do not want them to listen to garbage music, we do not listen to it. We must lead out children by example. If you do not want them to curse, don’t do it yourself. I have to ask a question to parents, can you truly say to your child MIMIC ME? Do as I do and live as I live?
Do as I say not as I do does NOT work parents! Dave and I are committed to raise out 4 children in the ways of the Lord. The principles of taught in the Bible are timeless and proven, when you raise your child with the morals, values and teachings of Jesus that child will love, live and laugh and all the glory will go to God. Whatever they do in life, if either playing sports or doing homework, we are to teach them to do it to the best of their abilities.
Family Scripture: As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Family Motto: Integrity, service before self and excellence in all you do. (That’s also the Air Force Motto
)
Above all, let’s make a commitment to allow our children to see us loving each other (husband and wife), to serve our spouse and the value they have. When you do this it teaches them that they can be secure in their home. Their parents (either biological or not) love each other and they are committed to their marriage. See a “father or mother” is not someone who helped in the conception of the child, it is the one who raises them the one who is there for them throughout life. There is NO need to tell that to a child, they are growing and becoming wiser and seeing the value of the people around them. The one who goes to the games, does the homework with them, teaches them how to read, is there with them when they are sick, tucks them into bed every night IS the one that will get the credit and respect in the child’s eyes. No one needs to bring that to the child’s attention. They will see it by themselves. No biological mother/father will ever replace the one who raises the child if that person is loving, caring and cultivating a relationship with the child.
My husband and I love each other beyond what words can describe. He is my best friend, an excellent husband and an even greater father. He adores franky just like he does his 3 biological children and I am forever thankful for the love, time, energy and effort he has spent into cultivating a relationship with franky. And guess what?! NOTHING is going to change that. As a child grows he/she will learn who deserves what place in his/her life. The parents job is to love them, nurture them and allow them to grow in an environment that encourages them to be everything God created them to be. Leave the rest to God, God is just and at the end of the day the truth will come out and as the child grows he will realize many things on his own. For now let’s raise them to love unconditionally and leave the rest to God and time!
I am so thankful and blessed to be married to a wonderful man and to have such beautiful and precious children. We love our family <3
God is good, all the time!
